Doppler Effect
The doppler effect is the change in frequency of a wave as its source moves in relation to an observer. For example, when a siren goes off on a firetruck the wavelengths are smaller in front of it because it is moving towards those waves, and the waves behind it are bigger because it is moving away from those.
